Thai Yoga Bodywork

WHAT IT IS
A therapeutic technique for healing and unwinding. Ancient in roots, powerfully relevant in today's pace and patterns of life.

Thai Bodywork as I offer it combines Traditional Thai Yoga Massage with trigger point therapy and somatic techniques. Thai Yoga Massage has its roots in Traditional Thai Medicine, Yoga and Ayurveda and is said to have been originated by the Buddha’s personal friend and physician, Jhivago Kumarbhacca, over 2,500 years ago. An ancient healing art, it combines elements of acupressure, energy work, yoga and meditation to relieve muscular and emotional tension and balance the body energetically. People come away from a Thai Yoga Massage typically feeling lighter, more mobile and with a lasting sense of peacefulness.

Thai Bodywork is done fully clothed with no lotions or oils on a padded mat on the floor. Come to this workshop in comfortable, loose or stretchy clothing that allows ease of movement and warmth. There's a futon-like mat on the floor that you'll lie down on (but with advance notice, seated sessions can work if you have a hard time getting down to or up from the floor).

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS
60 Min
Rejuvenate through a full body session releasing tension and allowing more energetic flow and joint & muscular mobility of the body. Alternatively, you may request the session focus on a particular problem area of pain, tension or restriction. This session length is recommended for regular body-mind maintenance.

90 Min
This is a standard session length offering a more thorough therapeutic regime, allowing time for more mind and/or physical tension release and/or more focused bodywork on problem areas if needed. Clients often say they come away feeling more mobile and light.

120 Min
For those of us who hold much stress in the mind-body or have acute problem areas, this session length is very helpful. It allows more time to restore energetic flow through the body, with more time to unwind tension, reduce constriction and taut fibers that may be causing stagnation, pain, discomfort or mobility restriction.

GIFT CARDS
You can treat someone you care about to the ancient healing art of Thai Bodywork. The gift card itself is beautiful and the session is of course deeply nourishing. Giving Thai Bodywork as a gift is a lovely alternative to giving material stuff, and will leave the receiver feeling more mobile, lighter, clear-headed and calm.
